Basketball News: Former NBA Player Jordan Crawford Bags Another Player of the Week Award in the CBA

Tianjin Ronggang Gold Lions' Jordan Crawford had an amazing performance as the team took on the the Jilin Northeastern Tigers in the 36th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league, earning him the right to be named Player of the Week.

The 27-year-old American guard, a Xavier University product, scored an amazing 55 big points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 3 assists in their 132-128 loss.

In the team's last game, the former NBA journeyman had a remarkable 64.0 percent shooting from the 2-point range. Although they lose the game, Crawford turned out to be Tianjin's top player in his first season with the ballclub.

Crawford, who played four years in the NBA, is the CBA's best scorer having an average so far of 42.8 points per game and with a solid 57.3 field goal percentage.

Drafted in 2010 as the 27th over-all pick selected by the New Jersey Nets, Crawford played for a total of four different teams in the league during his four year NBA tenure. He played for the Atlanta Hawks in his rookie year after being traded by the Nets.

Hawks traded him to the Washington Wizard in year 2011 and was sent to the Boston Celtics in 2013 before being transferred to the Stephen Curry-led Golden States Warriors in 2014.

During his stint with Warriors, Crawford scored his career high 41 points in a 116-112 win over the Denver Nuggets in the final regular season game on April 16, 2014.

Crawford had his first CBA experience with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers, appearing for just five games in the third quarter of 2014. He appeared in five preseason games for the Chicago Bulls but was waived before the regular season on October 2015. He returned to China on November fitting in with the Tianjin Ronggang Gold Lions.
