(Photo : gettyimages.com) Kobe Bryant scored 25 points as the Lakers took on the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, but his effort was not enough to secure a victory for the struggling team.
LaMarcus Aldridge scored 26 points as the San Antonio Spurs prevailed over the Los Angeles Lakers 106-102 despite a vintage game performance by Kobe Bryant, to remain unbeaten at home.
San Antonio was fresh from a lopsided victory against their Texas rival Dallas Mavericks in a 116-90 win last Friday. With that victory, the Spurs were able to match the franchise's best 50-game start record set in the 2010-11 season with 42 wins and 8 losses.

But with the game against the Lakers on Saturday night, it felt like that they went back to the past.
The Black Mamba went down firing in Alamo City. Bryant had 16 of his 25 points in the third quarter, draining 3 for 6 from beyond the arc region in steering the Lakers to an 81-79 2-point advantage entering the final quarter of the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar went 9 for 28 from the field, but the five-time NBA champion was 7 for 18 in an explosive second half that stirred up a pro-Bryant crowd, according to the NBA's official website.
"I thought it was great," San Antonio's veteran point guard Tony Parker told. "It was a great game, fans were into it. It felt a little bit like the old days in the playoffs, Spurs and the Lakers."
The 2015 NBA Defensive Player of the Year Kawhi Leonard had a double-double game performance of 20 points and 13 rebounds.
With the win, the Spurs registered their 28th straight victory at home to open the season. San Antonio remains the league's overall and Western Conference second best team after the Golden States Warriors with 43-8 record.
On the other hand, the Lakers suffered their 42nd loss in 53 games played winning just 11 games in this season.
According to Raul Dominguez of Yahoo Sports, Bryant has played against the West powerhouse Spurs for 90 occasions in the regular and postseason.
