NBA Recap: Golden States Warriors Outlasts Oklahoma City Thunder to Win 41st Consecutive Home Game

National Basketball Association's defending champion Golden States Warriors continue their dominance in the ongoing 2015-16 season of the league with a close and exciting 116-108 victory against one of the Western Conference powerhouse Oklahoma City Thunder in Oakland, California on Saturday night.

The reigning league's MVP Stephen Curry, who is coming fresh from a 51-point explosion against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, scored 26 points and made clutch time baskets and assist to lead the Warriors to their 41st consecutive regular-season home win.

"This was very playoff-like for sure," Curry said. "The atmosphere, just the intensity, the adrenaline down the stretch. That's what you expect for sure. It was good to get that feeling and execute."

With the win, the Golden States Warriors strengthened their hold to the top of the league's team standing with 46 wins and 4 losses. It was also the squad's ninth straight victory. Warriors matched the record set by the 1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers for best 50-games start.

The current NBA's No.1 team is just three victories away from equaling the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls for the longest home winning streak in NBA history.

The 2012 NBA draft 7th overall pick Harrison Barnes chipped in 19 points and the other half of the Dubs' Splash Brothers Klay Thompson netted 18 points for the defending champions Golden State.

Oklahoma City's dynamic duo Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook both registered a double-double game performances. January's Player of the Month Durant scored with 40 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while Westbrook, the 2015 NBA All-Star Game MVP, finished the game with 27 points and 12 assists.

The Thunder had won five consecutive games and 12 of 13. They are currently placed third in the Western Conference behind Golden States and San Antonio with 38 wins and 14 losses.

The Golden States Warriors will be hosting the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, while the Oklahoma City Thunder will visit the Phoenix Suns on Monday.
