CBA Round 38: Liaoning Flying Leopards Crush Shanxi Brave Dragons to Keep Top Spot

League leader Liaoning Flying Leopards kept their hold of the top of the team standings by easily crushing the tenth ranked team Shanxi Brave Dragons with a 132-115 victory in the 38th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Friday.
With the win, the Flying Leopards secured their 31th victory in 38 games played. They are one victory ahead of the Xinjiang Flying Tigers and Sichuan Blue Whales which both have an identical 30-8 record. It was also the 17th consecutive victory of the CBA top team. Meanwhile Shanxi endured their 20th defeat with eighteen games won in the 38 matches they have played.

Alhough the game was close during the early quarters of the match, Liaoning stepped on the gas and pulled away in the last quarter, extending their lead to a 17-point margin. The Flying Leopards dominated the rebounds department, grabbing a team-total of 55 boards with just 36 rebounds for the opposing ballclub, including a 29-12 advantage in offensive rebounds.
Liaoning went well in the foul line hitting 22 shots out of the 27 given free attempt, registering an 81.5 percent shooting accuracy. They also moved the ball pretty well, displaying good passing with a team-combined 26 assists.
The foreign international reinforcements of the Flying Leopards lead the team into victory, with another double-double game performance from Lester Hudson scoring 30 points and 15 making rebounds with 8 assists. Former Boston Celtic player Shavlik Randolph added 19 points and 12 rebounds with 2 assists for the winners.
Chinese forward He Tianju finished the game with 27 points, 3 rebound and 3 assists, while the Chinese basketball hotshot Guo Ailun contributed 26 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists for the Liaoning squad.
Former NBA player Jamaal Franklin had another monster performance with a triple-double 38 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. While Chinese center Peng Fei Yan added 22 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assist for the Brave Dragons.
