Players of English Premier League squad Manchester United FC are reportedly "split" with regards to the possibility of former Chelsea FC head coach Jose Mourinho taking over managerial reigns at the Old Trafford in the summer.
The Sun reported that the 53-year-old Portuguese bench tactician "is in the frame to replace Louis van Gaal as (Man United) boss this summer", but "there is fear among players" of his potential takeover particularly because of Ryan Giggs uncertain situation under Mourinho's command.

Giggs is the Red Devils' current assistant manager and his good relationship with van Gaal has made the players confident and comfortable under the Dutch manager's rule this season.
With the way the Blues have struggled in the first half of the season under Mourinho after capturing the Premier League title last season, some "senior stars" of Man United are said to be concerned of the possibility of "a major overhaul" that could lead to "mass departures".
Recent reports have also said that Jorge Mendes, Mourinho's agent, was recently in London to attend a meeting with United officials regarding The Special One's potential three-year, £300,000 per week contract that will start next season.
Meanwhile, ESPN indicated that according to Frank Lampard, the Blues' all-time leading goalscorer, Mourinho "would be a success at Old Trafford" if he indeed replaces van Gaal as manager next season.
"I think it's a possibility," Lampard said when asked about Mourinho-to-United rumors. "If Louis van Gaal goes on, which I think he's said he's going to leave at the end of the season at the latest, I think Mourinho's the type of manager that will certainly come into their thinking."
"He could certainly handle a club like that, that's what he's about," he added.
The 64-year-old van Gaal has continuously laughed at the rumors of Mourinho's takeover in the summer, saying that he is set to stay in Manchester for one more season.
