The two iPhone 6 sizes

Based on a new leak, the 4.7-inch and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models have the same striking external build.

According to MacRumors, Evasi0nJailbreak.com has new images of the upcoming iPhone's 5.5-inch back panel. The iPhone casing in the pictures closely resembles photos of the previously leaked rear panel of the 4.7-inch model, which gives an impression that the two are almost identical except for different sizes.

When the rear cases are beside each other, it's easily noticeable the iPhones share the same rounded True Tone flash, thick antenna breaks, embedded Apple logo cutout, microphone and antenna.

MacRumors also seems convinced the photos are legitimate, saying the screw holes in the shell match the leaked large iPhone logic board.

Another leak showed a screenshot of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 schematic that reveals the rear camera protrudes from the back case. While no other shooter specs were revealed, it's assumed the larger iPhone will have a similar, scaled up shooter feature.

New reports also claim the upcoming iPhones will have the same pixels per inch (ppi) range despite different screen sizes.

The 4.7-inch iPhone is said to feature a display panel with 359.34 ppi while the 5.5-inch model will have 307.07 ppi. It's also said the iPhones will both have 1472 x 828 screen resolution.

The estimates are based on Apple's newest Xcode software development program build which revealed the optimal screen resolution for the iOS 8.

The upcoming iPhone 6 release date countdown will start after its grand debut on Sept. 8. The phones will likely be available early in October for the 4.7-inch and in December for the Apple phablet.

People should also be aware of a scam email from sales@apple.com, saying the wait for iPhone 6 is over.

The email tells the recipient to follow a link and fill out their Apple ID and password buy the iPhone 6. This is a phishing site that could compromise confidential details in an Apple account.
