Tech company HP has unveiled the new HP Elite X3 at the 2016 Mobile Work Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The HP Elite X3 runs on Windows 10 Phone and sports an impressive list of specs and accessories which allows it to be used either as a smartphone, a laptop or a desktop computer.

The HP Elite X3 has a very innovative design. The back part of the device is made of sturdy matte plastic in HP Graphite, which makes its look almost close to the color black. The camera is located at the top center of the device and below it is the flash. On the lower front of the device is the speakers from Bang & Olufsen.

The HP Elite X3 sports a thin body at 7.8mm, a quite surprising feat despite the fact that it has a powerful 4150mAh battery pack. The battery pack should be enough to power the HP Elite X3 for a full day. Charging is not a big fuss since the device charges via Type-C USB and also supports Quick Charging.

The HP Elite X3 has an IP 67 rating. This means that is has protection against water spills and dusts. It also scores a certified Military Standard 810G, which means that the device could easily handle high drops and rugged usage.

The HP Elite X3 is billed as a phablet with its 5.96-inch screen size. At its heart is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor which is clocked at 2.15GHz. It also has 4GB of RAM. The Elite X3 is expected to be released with full Continuum support. This means that the smartphone can essentially be turned into a laptop when paired with a compatible display, dock and other essential peripherals.

The HP Elite X3 has a 64GB storage space which can be expanded up to 1TB via the microSD slot support. The 5.96-inch AMOLED screen supports 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. It has an 8-megapixel front facing camera and a 16-megapixel rear facing camera.

HP is yet to officially confirm the release date of the HP Elite X3 as well as its official price.
