Chinese telecommunications company ZTE is once again making waves in the tech community after it unveiled the Spro Plus. While ZTE's Spro line of devices revolutionized the mini smart projector market, the new ZTE Spro Plus is raising the bar even higher as it combines the function of a projector, smartphone, mobile hotspot and a portable USB battery into one nifty package.

The new ZTE Spro Plus is bigger and more powerful than its predecessors. It sports an 8.4-inch screen with Super AMOLED technology and resolution of up to 2560 x 1600 pixels. Compared to its direct predecessor, it is more of a tablet-sized device.

At the heart of the new ZTE Spro Plus is a choice between two equally powerful chipsets; the Snapdragon 801 or Snapdragon 625, both from Qualcomm. Both choice of chipsets support Wi-Fi, LTE and run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The new ZTE Pro Plus can also double as a Wi-Fi hotspot with its LTE network support. With a rated weigh of less than 1kg, the Spro Plus is still a lightweight device considering all the features tucked into it.

The ZTE Spro Plus has a projector rated at 500 lumens with WXGA resolution laser unit. The new Spro model is twice as bright as its direct predecessor, the Spro 2.

New technologies embedded into the Spro Plus include support for video conferencing via an external camera and two four-watt speakers from JBL. All these hardware are enclosed in a device that is thinner, compared to the Spro 2, and thanks to its 12,100mAh battery pack, can last at least four hours of video streaming.

The projector can cast an 80-inch image on a flat wall. Despite its interesting specs as a projector, the ZTE Spro Plus is billed as a mid-range tablet.
