National Basketball Association and Western Conference leading team Golden States Warriors claimed their 50th win of the season at the expense of the Eastern Conference sixth best ballclub Atlanta Hawks 102-92 on Monday night at the Philips Arena.
The reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry paced the Warriors with a game-high 36 points to go along with eight assists, six rebounds and three steals in 35.48 minutes in game action. Curry went 14-of-22 from the field and connected 5-of-11 from the three-point area.

The Warriors currently stand at 50-5, and are still on the track to beat the record set by the Michael Jordan-led 1995-96 Chicago Bulls of 72 wins with just 10 losses. They have won their second consecutive game after losing to the Portland Trail Blazer on Friday in a lopsided 137-105 match.
"Fifty wins is great," Curry, who also went 3-of-3 from the foul line, said, "but we've got to keep plugging away and staying hungry, because nobody wants to talk about that in June."
Golden States ended the first half with a 19-point advantage 58-39. However, the Hawks made a huge run in the third quarter and were able to control the tempo and limit the Warriors to just 18 points, while they produced a big 36 points to cut the deficit within half a basket 76-75 going in to the final quarter of the game.
The Warriors got back the control in the final twelve minutes of the game with a 26-17 run to finish the match with a ten-point margin.
The other half of the Dub's Splash brothers Klay Thompson added 27 points while shooting 10-of-23 from the field and dropping 5-of-14 treys. Forward Harrison Barnes chipped in 14 points for the winners.
"I liked our response," Warriors coach Steve Kerr told.
"They were on fire in their home building. Everything was going against us, and we maintained our poise and pulled away down the stretch. It was a really good win."
