(Photo : Reuters) "Destiny" developer Bungie announced on April 8 that it will release a new update on April 12. Although the update will be rolled out on all platforms for free, Bungie said that a handful of gears and items will be exclusively released for the PlayStation consoles.
The scheduled weekly reset of "Destiny" took place on Feb. 23 and with it marks the return of the popular Iron Banner. Unlike other Crucible events on "Destiny," Iron Banner is a unique one since all power advantages are enabled. This allow players with high gear level to inflict more damage.
This month's Iron Banner event will see the return of the Gauntlets and Helm to their respective classes. Gamers are also excited about rare loots and powerful weapons that come with Iron Banner.

One particular weapon is the Weyloran's March, a powerful sniper rifle. The Tormod's Bellows rocket launcher is also on sale.
The Weyloran's March will no doubt appeal to snipers, thanks to the weapon's high aim assist. The Ambush and Hawkeye scopes are also interesting upgrades. Other upgrades include Reinforced Barrel, Injection Mold and Firefly.
Tormod's Bellows also have some interesting perks including the Tracking and Tripod. However, based on its damage and specs, the rocket launcher is not expected to replace the gamer-favorite Truth when it comes to PvP.
The game type for the first week of Iron Banner is Clash or team death match. Just like in previous events, the event will run until March 1 at 1 AM PST.
Bungie announced that the Iron Banner event will be a bit different due to some recent tests with the Control playlist. The latest Iron Banner event reportedly employs a new matchmaking algorithm which puts more emphasis on connection quality in determining rounds. This means that gamers will, in theory, experience less lag.
In order to establish a level playing field, especially for lower level gamers, Bungie is establishing a new Damage Referee. This new feature will give gamers with faulty connection a slightly better advantage compared to their higher-level or better-equipped opponents.
