The Apple iPhone 6 release date is almost upon us. But this early, there's speculation about an iPhone 6C.
This "new" model is rumored to be similar to the iPhone 5C and an iPhone 6L, which stands for "large" for the new Apple phablet.
Apple repair firm GeekBar from China shared information on Aug. 21, claiming it's about the iPhone 6 schematics.

The iPhone 6 is said to be available in a 128 GB variant with 16 GB and 64 GB internal storage options. GeekBar documents didn't show a 32 GB storage option for the iPhone 6 even if it's usually a standard option for iPhone models.
German carrier Deutsche Telekom said the iPhone 6 will be released on Sept. 19 following its debut on Sept. 9.
This is backed up by web portal Tencent from China, adding more information on the iPhone 6 specs.
A MacRumors source, however, claimed the iPhone 6 will be available on Oct. 14 after a Sept. 16 debut.
It's rather odd though because Apple usually releases products about 10 days following its announcement. Apple also usually releases products on a Friday and Oct. 14 is a Tuesday.
With a new and higher memory variant, the iPhone could have higher price points.
It could increase the price tag of an iPhone by about US$50 to US$100.
The iPhone 5S starts at US$199 with a contract for the 16 GB variant while the 32 GB unit costs US$299 and the 64 GB unit costs US$399. While the price of the iPhone 6 is still unknown, analysts predict the next-gen flagship iPhone could cost about US$700 without contract.
Apple design expert Jony Ive confirmed that Apple is using new materials for its future devices.
These could be sapphire and LiquidMetal. The new iPhone design is also said to include round edges similar to the newest iPod Touch and a relocated power button on the side. There are also rumors the iPhone 6 will feature a wraparound display.
Apple was granted a patent for electronic devices with sidewall displays, which suggests next-gen iPhones could have displays that extend to the sides. This will give touch and interactive capabilities to controls that provide access to music player controls, unlock functionality, messaging readout and system controls, among others.
