"No matter how poorly we were shooting, we work on that every single day," Harden, who went 11 for 24 from the field, said. "Having confidence in my teammates to knock down shots is important."
With 21 turnovers and an unpleasant 3 of 34 from the three-point marker, the Rockets were able to rally past against the visiting team. All-Star Anthony Davis, who finished the game with 12 points in a 5 for 13 shooting, had an off night.
The Rockets' terrible shooting performance made Houston the first team in NBA history to make fewer than four 3s on 30 or more attempts, according to the league's official website.
"3 out of 34, that's rarely going to happen," Harden, who made 1 of 8 from beyond the arc region, said. "If we knocked down more of those, it would've been a different ballgame."
The game was a pretty close one, with the score reading 76 all as the third quarter ended. In the final period of the game, the Pelicans managed to lead by 6 points courtesy of Anderson's three-pointer to make it 90-84 with 4:32 minutes remaining.
Houston was able to overtake the lead with a layup shot by Harden to make it 94-93 with 1:29 minutes left to play. Anderson was fouled and converted two charity shots to give back the lead to the Pelican 95-94 with 1:05 minutes on the game clock.
Beverly connected his second three-pointer of the game to give Houston a 97-95 lead with less than a minute left. Davis missed a trey then Harden made 2 for 2 from the foul line to allow Brewer make the final point of the game.
