Chinese smartphone maker OPPO has cut the price of its classy, all metal body F1 smartphone for $199. It is available via Optus.
The F1 was launched in February receiving iTWire's recommendation in Australia. The smartphone's normal price is $299. The discount takes about $100 off the original price. The Optus version of the F1 is locked to the network, but users can unlock it for a fee.

"We're delighted to be working with Optus to bring the OPPO F1 to market and believe it will be a very popular choice among consumers," Michael Tran, chief marketing officer of OPPO Mobile Australia, said.
The OPPO F1 smartphone features a 5-inch display screen, an 8-core processor, 720p high definition display, 16GB of internal storage and a second SIM slot that can be used as a microSD card port. The storage also can be expanded up to 128GB.
The F1 smartphone has a quality 13-megapixel rear camera backed with OPPO's comprehensive Flash Shot technology to capture vivid pictures. It is also a great selfie shooter with an impressive 8-megapixel front facing camera with a 1/4 inch sensor and a wide f/2.0 lens. These innovations allow for 44 percent more light to enter the front facing camera than a f/2.4 lens. This results in shots that are 30 percent clearer than ones taken with a standard 5MP front facing camera.
OPPO F1 is now available on Optus's official website. Users must take note this important information before purchasing the device. The Optus version of this device is (1) locked to Optus with select bands (2) in silver only (3) has a single SIM slot active.
