NBA Recap: Toronto Raptors Top Brooklyn Nets, DeMar DeRozan Scores 25 Points

(Photo : gettyimages.com) All-Star guard DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with a team-high 25 points to beat the visiting Brooklyn Nets.
The Toronto Raptors got the better of the Brooklyn Nets with a 104-99 victory at the Air Canada Centre on Tuesday evening to bounce back from a loss to the Houston Rockets this past Sunday.
All-Star guard DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with a team-high 25 points, while the other half of the Toronto's dynamic duo Kyle Lowry added 23 points and 9 assists.

Patrick Patterson and Terrence Ross chipped in 11 points apiece, while Jonas Valanciunas contributed with 10 points for the Raptors, who outrebounded the Nets with 40 to 29 boards including 12-6 advantage in offensive rebounding.
The Raptors capped the beginning quarter with a 28-23 lead, but Brooklyn made a huge 35-14 run in the second quarter to establish a lead of 16 points 58-42 at the halftime break.
In the third quarter of the match, DeRozan made seven straight points and cut Brooklyn's lead to just 11 points, 60-49 with 9:15 minutes left to play. However, Lopez, who finished the game with 35 points for the Nets, put it back to a 15-point margin with a jump shot to make it 71-56 with over six minutes left to play in quarter number three.
Toronto made a 22-9 charge in the last minutes of the third quarter to cut deficit to just a basket 80-78 going in to the final period of the ball game.
In the early minutes of the fourth quarter, with the momentum on their side, the Raptors fired a 16-2 run as Patterson, Ross and Lowry connected from three-pointers to make the score 94-82 securing a 12-point lead with over eight minutes remaining in the game.
Lopez made seven straight points and cut the Raptors' lead to just three 100-97 with 3:14 to play. DeRozan retaliated with a jumper to stretch the lead to five, but Young hit a jump shot to make it 102-99 going in to the last two minutes of the game.
In the last 37.9 seconds of the game, Lowry sank a floating jump shot that sealed the victory.
