Microsoft is reported to be finally ready to release the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade to those who are still using older versions of its operating system. The upgrade would reportedly be separate from service updates offered each month by Microsoft.

Lumia devices will receive the update at different time. Reports indicate that the first set of Lumia smartphones that will likely receive the update are: The Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, 1 GB RAM model of Lumia 634, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930.

Microsoft has delayed the Windows 10 Mobile update since December last year and users are hopeful that the upgrade will finally arrive this month.

Microsoft is allegedly planning to release the update in this month and it will arrive passively to users. Lumia owners should check their phones manually for the availability of the software on their devices. Because of incremental updates, Windows Phone 8.1 users will probably not face major issues upon upgrading their devices to Windows 10 Mobile. To get the update, Lumia handsets need to run on Windows Phone 8.1 with build no. 8.10.14219.341 along with the Lumia Denim software.

Users who registered with the Windows Insider program already run the Windows 10 Mobile preview editions. The firmware's roll out process could be faster this time because of the elimination of the Preview for Developer program and its dependence on a required software update.
