San Antonio Spurs routed the host team Minnesota Timberwolves to bounce back from a loss with an overwhelming 116-91 victory at the Target Center on Tuesday night.

Starting center David West, who shot 7 for 9 from the field, scored 18 points, while Kawhi Leonard and Andre Miller chipped in with 15 points and 13 points, respectively, for the Spurs. The team played without the five-time NBA champion coach Gregg Popovich, who was attending to a family matter.
San Antonio dominated the game. The Spurs ended the first half of the game with 59-47, carrying a 12-point lead in their locker room. They kept their dominance in the second half of the match by limiting the point production of the Timberwolves to just 44, while they scored 57 points.
The Spurs shot better with 55.3 percent, making 47 of 85 from the field, compared to the 36 for 79 of Minnesota for a 45.6 percent shooting from the floor.
The defeat was the Timberwolves' 45th loss this season. They have won just 20 games and have been 11-22 at home while 9-23 on road. Minnesota have lost seven of their last ten games played.
"They need to remember these losses though," Timberwolves interim coach Sam Mitchell said. "If you're ever going to get better, if you're ever going to win, you have to remember the times where you got your butt kicked."
Andrew Wiggins led Minnesota with 23 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns and Zach LaVine added 19 and 15 points, respectively.
