The main significance of this update is the support that the OEM offers for RAW photography, which fixes the usual bugs on the later version and adds some general improvements. The purpose of this update is to enhance the camera of the phone.
Users who love taking photos with their devices will appreciate the RAW photo support, which provides better quality images. This is possible because after capturing the images in RAW format, the camera records the full representation which is captured on the sensor. In comparison, when shooting in .jpg mode, the handset compresses the images, thus reducing their quality at the same time.
The RAW feature is highly recommended when users want to use professional photo-editing apps on their devices. When editing an image in RAW format on a photo-editor, the app will retain the true size of the image and will avoid noise.
Aside from the camera update for the latest OxygenOS 2.2.1 OS, bugs around with Bluetooth, image corruption, Ultra SIM, and use of roaming was also fixed. There is also a GSM 3.0 update that can be found in the store, alongside with Romanian language support.
Another notable addition to the camera of the OnePlus 2 is the manual mode. The release of RAW photography support and manual mode will appeal to the increasing number of smartphone photography aficionados.
