"We're a humble club," Leonard, who went 10 for 24 from the field and perfect 5 for 5 from the foul line, said. "We just want to get better as each game goes as the season goes on. So, it doesn't matter who we're playing. It's just about us and are we going to execute, are we going to go out and have energy and play defense. We fought through the whole game tonight."
Starter LaMarcus Aldridge scored 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds and veteran center Tim Duncan chipped in with 11 points and six boards for the Spurs.
San Antoniotea, who have a record of 56 wins and 10 losses, rallied to extend their franchise best start. The Spurs were trailing by a basket 68-66 entering the final quarter for just the fourth time in 32 home games this season. Leonard scored nine in the final twelve minute of the game.
Reserve David West, who finished with eight points, ignited the rally, scoring six straight points to tie the game at 72 with 9:19 minutes to go. The 12-year veteran shouted encouragements to the team following his second basket and closed the run by rushing in to tip in his own missed short jumper.
The momentum has shifted and the Spurs took advantage of it and took control of the ball game. Leonard gave San Antonio an eight-point lead 89-81 with over two minutes remaining.
Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 28 points and Russell Westbrook had 19 points.
