During the event, the 'I love Hong Kong' star Nat Chan came up to the stage and poked fun at Kenneth Ma, stating that he was one of the 'top diamond bachelors' of TVB.
In response to the older actor's joke, Kenneth Ma jokingly agreed, saying that it was like he was choosing a wife for himself. He even added that he was going to disqualify those that he likes so he can pursue them.
An interview was also held for the celebrity voters during the Miss Hong Kong 2014 semi-finals event. On the interview, Kenneth Ma had been asked about his thoughts about judging the contestants for the evening. The actor has admitted that he easily gets affected with the rumors that go around regarding the contestants.
According to the 40-year old actor, he preferred women who were more confident and calm, and that he was also taking into consideration the personality and overall impression of the 16 contestants. The actor claimed that looks and figure only come second.
"There must be a good balance of everything," Kenneth Ma stated during his interview.
On other reports, the actor had been spotted on a dinner date with a non-showbiz female friend recently. The actor said that when his friend knew about it, she almost fell sick and he has added that she hasn't asked him out since then.
On the other hand, Kristal Tin has also been chosen as one of the celebrity voters and said that she was trying hard not to read gossip reports about the contestants as it would affect her overall view of them.
According to the actress, her personal favorites were contestants #3 Linna Huynh and #11 Sofiee Ng. Both contestants were able to make it to the finals.
