Basketball Rumors: Former NBA Player Nate Robinson Agrees to a Deal to Play in Israel

Former three-time National Basketball Association Slam Dunk champion and free agent Nate Robinson has reportedly signed a deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv.
According to Sports Illustrated, veteran pro basketball reporter David Pick said that the 2005 NBA draft 21st overall pick accepted a contract to play in Israel.

Robinson reportedly tried for a roster spot in the Xinjiang Flying Tigers squad in January. The Flying Tigers, who finished second in the regular season, flew Robinson out to China for a workout.
The 10-year NBA veteran was seen in Hong Kong before heading to Urumqi, Xinjiang to compete with for Los Angeles Laker guard Andrew Goudelock for a spot on the team's lineup. However, the 31-year-old professional American basketball player is said to have failed to impress the coaching staff of the Chinese ballclub and was officially cut from the tryout.
Robinson played college basketball for University of Washington Huskies before being drafted to the NBA in 2005. He has played for eight different teams in the most popular professional basketball league in the world during his decade-long playing career.
Robinson appeared in the first two games of the New Orleans Pelicans this season before being waived by the Western Conference Southwest Division team on October 29, 2015. last season, Robinson played for the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets for a total of 42 official games.
The listed 5-foot-9 guard has expressed his desire to try out for a National Football League club . Robinson used to play cornerback during his freshman year at the University of Washington, appearing in six matches in 2002 before shifting his full attention to basketball.
The Hapoel Tel Aviv Basketball Club currently competes in Israeli Premier League and Israeli Cup. The club has won five Israeli Championships and four Israel State Cups.
