NBA Recap: Charlotte Hornets Down Orlando Magic, Marvin Williams and Nicolas Batum Score 26 Points Apiece

The Charlotte Hornets bounced back from a sloppy loss on Monday at the expense of the visiting Orlando Magic with a 107-99 victory at the Time Warner Cable Arena on Wednesday evening.
The Hornets were led by Marvin Williams and Nicolas Batum, who both scored 26 points each to give the team an impressive 6-1 homestand record.

Frenchman Batum also dished out nine assists and seven rebounds, while Williams had nine boards, one steal and one blocked shot.
Starting guard Kemba Walker finished the game with 16 points and eight rebounds, while shooting 6 for 16 from the field in 37:56 minutes of playing time. Center Cody Zeller had a double-double game production of 13 points and 13 rebounds.
With the win, the Hornets improved to 38 wins and 29 losses; they are just a half game behind fourth and fifth place Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics, who have an identical 39-29 record. Miami Heat, the current third-best basketball squad with 39-28, is just one victory ahead of the Michael Jordan-owned team.
Charlotte's game against the Heat on Thursday evening will be a big one as it could have potential tiebreaker implications in terms of playoff seeding.
The Micky Arison-owned basketball team have won two of their three matches against the Hornets this season. Miami will be hosting Charlotte for their fourth encounter.
The Hornets trailed 30-26 as the opening quarter ended, but made a huge 35-13 run in the second quarter to cap the first half leading by 18 big points 61-43.
Magic was limited to just 28 points in the third period, while the Hornets were able to stretch the gap to 21 points 92-71 going in to the final twelve minutes of the game.
Orlando made a 28-15 run in the fourth quarter but Charlotte was able to sustain their lead and wrap up the victory.
Victor Oladipo had 25 points, while Brandon Jennings contributed with 16 points and Andrew Nicholson added 13 for the Magic.
