NBA Recap: Washington Wizards Crush Chicago Bulls, John Wall Registers Triple-Double Game Production

Washington Wizards routed the Chicago Bulls with a 117-96 win to remain in contention for the last playoff spot in the tight Eastern Conference at the Verizon Center on Wednesday night.

All-Star point guard John Wall finished the game with an amazing triple-double performance of 29 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds, along with three steals and one blocked shot in 39:03 minutes of playing time.

"We put ourselves in this situation. And if we just keep playing defense this way, we give ourselves a great chance to beat anybody. Simple as that," Wall said. "We simplified our defense the last two games, it showed up and it's been a lot better."

The Wizards have won two straight games after suffering a five-game losing skid.

With the win, Washington improves to 32-35. They are presently at the tenth spot, but they are just two victories behind the eighth place Detroit Pistons (34-34) and mathematically stand a chance to make the final cut for a playoff spot.

"Now we're in it," reserve forward Jared Dudley said. "Before, if we lose these two, we would have been out of it. We win these two, now we're in the thick of things."

The Wizards dominated the entire game as they won the scoring in each quarter played. They out-rebounded the Bulls 47-40 and controlled the shaded area by scoring 42 points in the paint compared to 38 points of Chicago.

The Bull, who committed 18 turnovers, allowed the Wizards have 25 fast break points while they are limited to just 11 points during the entire 48 minutes of the match.

Doug McDermott had 20 points while Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose added 17 and 16 points, respectively for the Bulls, who dropped to 33-33.
