NBA Recap: Golden State Warriors Demolish New York Knicks, Stephen Curry Scores 34 Points

(Photo : gettyimages.com) Stephen Curry dropped 34 points in another spectacular 3-point shooting game night to lead the NBA's current top team to extend their record regular-season home winning run to 50 games.

The defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors continued their dominance of the league by demolishing the visiting New York Knicks with a lopsided 36-point margin 121-85 victory at the Oracle Arena on Wednesday evening.

The league's season scoring leader Stephen Curry dropped 34 points in another spectacular 3-point shooting game night to lead the NBA's current top team to extend their record regular-season home winning run to 50 games.

Curry, who sat out the final twelve minutes of the game, went 12 for 20 from the field and connected 8 of 13 from beyond the arc in just 28:21 minutes of playing time as the Golden State registered their 32th consecutive home game win this season.

Starter Klay Thompson, who made 5 of 9 from the three-point area, had 19 points. Marreese Speights contributed 13 points with uncanny three treys coming off the bench as the Warriors (61-6) stayed one game ahead of the 1995-96 Bulls' pace in their record 72-win season.

Golden State ended the first half leading 62-46 and continued to pound the Knicks with a huge 35-18 run in the third quarter to further stretch their lead to a commanding 33 points 97-64 entering the final quarter of the game.

The Warriors maintained their double digit lead in the last period of the match limiting New York to 21 points only while they poured in 24 points to seal the victory.

Golden State won the battle for the boards, out-rebounding the Knicks 54-38. New York also allowed the Warriors to have 34 fast break points. The Warriors also ruled the shaded area scoring 46 points of it game output.

"It's unbelievable, the way that they play. The lineups that they mess around with out there," Carmelo Anthony, who score 18 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out six assists for the Knicks, said. "Their record, 61-6, we're witnessing, kind of, history here. It's hard to give them a pat on the back when you just got your (tail) whipped."
