The Chinese Super League's last season fourth-placed squad Beijing Guoan FC opened the 2016 season with a 0-0 draw with Tianjin Teda FC at the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium in Tianjin, China on Wednesday.
Beijing Guoan was supposed to begin its new season against newly-promoted club Hebei China Fortune on March 11th, but the match was rescheduled to a still unannounced date, which delayed their season opener by a week.

The game started shaky for Alberto Zaccheroni's squad as the players needed time to adjust after such a long time off.
The Imperial Guards paraded their new winter acquisitions - Brazilians Renato Augusto and Ralf Teles - in their starting eleven.
Uzbekistani defender Egor Krimets, who was acquired by Beijing in 2013 and again this winter via loan from Uzbek club Pakhtakor Tashkent FK, also briefly appeared in the game, substituting local defender Zhao Hejing late in the 87th minute, as per Soccerway.
The capital city team's two other foreign players - Brazilian Kléber and Turkish Burak Yilmaz - did not play in the game for undisclosed reasons.
Tianjin Teda made the most of the availability of their imports, fielding in the maximum four foreign players in their starting unit to try and stun Guoan from the kick off.
The Tigers have four newly-acquired international players, namely Zaindine Junior of Mozambique, Aleksandar Jovanovic of Australia, Fredy Montero of Colombia, and Mbaye Diagne of Senegal.
Defenders Junior and Jovanovic, striker Montero, and attacking midfielder Wagner all started for Dragan Okuka's side while striker Diagne was substituted for Montero at the 84th minute.
Beijing will next face Yanbian Funde FC on April 2nd at the Yanji Nationwide Fitness Centre Stadium in Yanji City for their second game of the season, while Tianjin is scheduled to meet current bottom-dwellers Changchun Yatai FC at the Development Area Stadium in Changchun on April 3rd.
