2016 AFC Champions League Group Stage: Shandong Luneng Fall 1-4 to FC Seoul in 3rd Round

Chinese Super League team Shandong Luneng Taishan FC suffered their first loss in the 2016 AFC Champions League group stage following a disappointing 1-4 defeat to K League Classic giants FC Seoul at their own home field of Jinan Olympic Sports Center Stadium in Jinan, Shandong, China on Wednesday.

Brazilian striker Adriano scored a brace for the South Korean squad at the 28th and 71st minute, while teammates Go Yo-han and Dejan Damjanovic netted a goal each in the middle at the 65th and 68th minute to complete the four-goal haul of manager Choi Yong-soo's side.
Taishan Dui managed to score a consolation goal at the 62nd minute courtesy of a close range header from Brazilian import Jucilei off an assist by local midfielder Hao Junmin.
Shandong's Brazilian head coach Mano Menezes fielded in his three countrymen imports, namely Jucilei, Diego Tardelli, and Gil, in his starting lineup, but the team was still not able to stop the onslaught of their compatriot Adriano.
Menezes' two other foreign players, Walter Montillo of Argentina and Aloisio of Brazil, did not suit up in the match.
Seoul head coach Yong-Soo Choi utilized all four of his imports in his starting eleven, which includes Adriano, Damjanovic of Montenegro, team captain Osmar Barba of Spain, and midfielder Yojiro Takahagi of Japan.
The South Korea capital city team remained undefeated in Group F competitions after their third straight win with nine points in the group table, while Shandong settled for the second spot with six points.
Seoul, the reigning Korean Football Association (FA) Cup champions, dominated their opponents in the first three games.
The team opened the group stage with a 6-0 whipping of Thailand's Buriram United right at the New I-Mobile Stadium in Buriram then overpowered Sanfrecce Hiroshima 4-1 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium before their meeting with Shandong.
