Kristhielee Caride, who was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico four months ago, will not represent her country at the 2016 Miss Universe Pageant due to her 'attitude problem' and a squabble with the national director of the event over her public appearances as a beauty queen.
Caride won the title last December and was scheduled to represent the U.S. Territory on the international stage.

However, Caride displayed a dismissive attitude in a local newspaper interview and revealed that she was not comfortable with the 'cameras.' Caride also allegedly 'shut down' a reporter's questions, according to MSN News.
As a result, Desiree Lowry, the National Director of Miss Universe, decided to replace Caride at the 2016 Miss Universe, according to the Associated Press.
Lowry said that as a beauty queen, one must put her 'best face forward' and Caride, as a public figure, is expected to face cameras everyday and answer all sorts of questions from the media.
Lowry added that Caride did not make an apology to the media or to any officials of the Miss Universe. Caride immediately responded that she was going through personal problems and promised that the incident will not happen again.
However, Caride made a mistake again after cancelling public appearances due to a scheduled doctor's appointment.
Caride defended her actions through a social media post and also apologized for letting her personal problems get in the way of her duties as Miss Universe Puerto Rico. She said that she did not agree with the decision of Miss Universe officials to strip her of the crown, but will surrender her sash with dignity.
Brenda Jimenez is the new title holder of Miss Universe Puerto Rico. She was presented by Lowry through at a news conference in San Juan on Thursday. Jimenez wore the tiara with a bemused look on her face.
