Tech giant Google has rolled out an update for Google Maps service for Android users. The new update allows users to label places on Google Maps with customized location stickers. The search giant also rolled out a new update for Timeline.

With the new update, Google Maps users can now mark their home and work offices with fancy and colorful stickers. The feature is part of the new Label system released by Google. While home and work are two of the major places that users are most likely to visit, the new sticker feature can also be used to label all sorts of places.

By putting a sticker on a specific location, users will have quicker access to it especially when looking for directions or checking latest information regarding traffic conditions, routes and future connections to the area.

Users can start putting stickers on places of their choice by first updating Google Maps on their devices. Once the necessary update is completed, users can tap the three diagonal lines located in the search bar of the app and tap Your Places. Under this tab is the Place option which when tapped will open up available stickers for users to use.

Regarding Timeline, Google has been keeping track of all the location each users have checked into in the past several years. Timeline is not an entirely new feature, in fact it was launched almost a year ago. The new Timeline update allows users to check how much have they walked or driven.

Google claims that since this information is critical to user security, it are not publicly available. However, tech experts believe that in the event that a Google account is hacked, hackers will be able to access a user's Timeline information.
