In addition to the new announced game, “Two Worlds II” will also be receiving a major engine update to its current engine in preparation for the DLCs. The two single-player story DLCs are Tenebrae and Shattered Embrace and the second game title will be receiving eight new multiplayer maps.
The major game engine update will at least partially reflect the quality of the next game in the series. It will provide higher detail for landscapes and characters, an improved user interface, in-game achievements, co-op multiplayer, and other in-game features and improvements.
Call of Tenebrae focuses on the player character who returns to Antaloor and about to witness the murder of half-orc assassin and comrade DarPha. The executors are a new rat creature species called The Chosen, who also happen to possess a powerful new magic and a genocidal plan to kill everyone in Antaloor. Call of Tenebrae is set to come out at the end of Q2 2016. As for the second DLC, there are no details yet.
Released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox One and PC, the “Two Worlds II” major updates will be available in these three platforms. It will be accessible on both Linux and Steam OS, allowing a much higher level of character landscape detail. Topware said that it will add HD-GUI for the upcoming update.
