A 7-year-old boy spent 10,000 yuan ($1,500) on tickets to Shanghai Disneyland for 20 of his classmates without the consent of his parents.

The boy's father said that he has no idea of the transaction until he received a text message confirming his purchase. Initially, he thought it was nothing but a malicious online fraud. He was later shocked when he learned it was his son who made the online booking using his mobile phone number.

The boy managed to complete the entirely complicated process, from filling up personal information to making the online payment, according to his father.

The father, nevertheless, gave his full support to his son, saying "[We are] very happy to see the boy learning to share with others." He also proudly posted and shared the ticket receipt on social media.

He further revealed that the money actually came from the boy's savings and he hoped to buy more tickets to also invite the parents of his son's classmates.

Since the tickets went on sale, Shanghai Disneyland's management has begun implementing a five tickets per ID card only policy, based on its official website.

Within five minutes after Shanghai Disneyland offered tickets pre-selling at 12:01 AM on March 28, tickets were all sold out. Peak season, including the first two weeks and weekends, is priced at 499 yuan. But because of the huge demand, some unofficial ticketing outlets are selling tickets up to eight times the actual price.

Shanghai Disneyland is set to open on June 16 this year. Visitors are all the more excited as it offers not only new rides to experience and sites to see, but is a blend of classic Disney features and the Chinese culture.
