A rumor has been circulating the internet that Microsoft is developing a new console called 'Xbox neXt.' However the company shut these talks down immediately. The rumor started after David Gardner, a Microsoft employee, updated his LinkedIn profile with information about 'Xbox neXt,' which allegedly refers to a better version of the Xbox One that is still under development.

Many fans have been hoping that the rumor is true, but Microsoft released a statement to end the spread of the false news.

"Xbox neXt was an old internal team name for a group that worked on releasing Xbox One and is not related to a future console," a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN. "We have nothing further to share."

While the company dispelled that rumor, another one quickly rose pertaining to the "Xbox One and a half."

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer addressed the rumors about the alleged new hardware.

"I'm not a big fan of Xbox One and a half," Spencer said. "If we're going to move forward, I want to move forward in big numbers. I don't know anything about any of the PS4K rumors that are out there, but I can understand other teams' motivations to do that."

According to Spencer, Microsoft's console is doing well in terms of performance, its server and reliability.  "If we're going to go forward with anything, like I said, I want it to be a really substantial change for people an upgrade," the statement continued.

At the moment, Microsoft is reportedly not working to bring a new version of the console to the market. Recently, Xbox One bundles and models had a discount of $50.

Furthermore, Yusuf Mehdi, Xbox marketing executive, revealed that the will be releasing new games this year such as 'Sea of Thieves,' 'Gears of War 4' and 'Crackdown 3.'
