Apple iPhone 6 Release Date: New Health Kit and Phosphorus Chip at $800

According to a new leak, the Sept. 9 release date of the highly-anticipated iPhone 6 is confirmed. French tech blog Nowhere Else published new photos of what is supposedly part of the packaging for Apple's latest flagship smartphone.

The photos show a new wake/sleep button location on the iPhone 6's upper right hand side. Other claims include that the smartphone will feature a reversible USB port and a beefed up battery unit. It is said that Apple used sapphire glass for the next-gen iPhone 6 screen for a smash and scratch proof display. Nowhere Else leaked the same photos of an iPhone 5S documentation citing a reliable Chinese source. In 2013, it leaked the new home button with fingerprint sensor only hours ahead of the Apple launch.

Steve Hemmerstoffer of Nowhere Else said that his source is still correct this year. According to him, the company chose a clean, white box for its upcoming flagship smartphone. Nowhere Else also indicated that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 could have 128 GB of internal memory.

Apple is rumored to be launching two iPhone 6 sizes with a large 5.5-inch phablet model to be called iPhone 6L. Meanwhile, Samsung is rumored to be releasing the Samsung Galaxy Alpha to compete with Apple's smaller iPhone 6 variant. The iPhone 5S has a 4-inch screen.

Other iPhone 6 rumored features are an ultra thin body, higher screen resolution and a new Apple operating system iOS 8. Apple's WWDC keynote was HealthKit, an iOS tool for a more functional and cohesive library of fitness and health apps for the iPhone.

Weibo user GeekBar also posted a photo of schematics for Phosphorus, a chip supposedly to follow-up the M7 motion coprocessor in the iPhone 5S.
