Ben Affleck signed on to direct and star in an upcoming standalone Batman film, Warner Brothers Chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday.
"It set up a great foundation for our DC slate, which includes at least 10 movies through 2020," said Tsuijhara. "I'm also excited to know that we will be working with Ben Affleck on a stand-alone Batman movie."

Affleck played the role of The Dark Knight in the summer blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which saw Batman and Superman together for the very first time, paving the way for an extended DC cinematic universe of films, which includes Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and Justice League.
Rumors about Affleck's involvement in a standalone Batman film with DC Entertainment CCO Geoff Johns has been doing the rounds for quite some time now and last month it was revealed that the Argo director had even penned a script for the solo Batman project.
"He's contracted to do at least Justice League One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape," William Morris Endeavor co-CEO Patrick Whitesell told The Hollywood Reporter. "There's a script that he's written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that's out there as an option."
Tsujihara also confirmed that Affleck will feature as the Caped Crusader in Zack Snyder's Justice League and the actor expressed his excitement about the film and the extended DC Universe on stage at the event.
"It's been tremendously exciting for us to be a part of the DC Universe, and we're looking forward to working on Justice League," Affleck said, making an appearance with Amy Adams, who has been confirmed to reprise her role as Lois Lane in the movie.
