Meizu Pro 6 Launched: New Smartphone with 3D Press will be Available on April 23

Chinese smartphone maker Meizu Technology Co., Ltd. has officially unveiled the Meizu Pro 6 handset in Beijing. The device is the successor to the Meizu Pro 5 that was launched back in September 2015.

The Meizu Pro 6 is expected to be available in two versions on Apr. 23 in the Chinese market. The 32GB version will come with a price tag of around $385, while the 64GB model will cost about $430.

Specs-wise, the Meizu Pro 6 features a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display screen, which is 0.5-inch smaller than the previous model. The screen has a 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution (Full HD) protected by curved Gorilla Glass 4 and accompanied by Meizu's own 3D Press technology.

The phone measures 147.7 x 70.8 x 7.3 mm in dimensions and weighs about 160 grams, which is 8 grams lighter than the Pro 5 model. Under the hood, the Pro 6 is powered by MediaTek's latest Helio X25 deca-core chipset and packs 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of built-in memory storage, and a 2,560 mAh battery with the mCharge 3.0 technology.

The device can be charged up to 26 percent in just 10 minutes and fully charged in just 60 minutes. As for the camera, the Pro 6 has a 21 megapixel unit on the back and a 5 megapixel shooter on the front. The primary camera is accompanied by a 10-LED dual-tone flash with laser autofocus and phase detection capabilities.

Design-wise, the Pro 6 features a unibody metal design which is 48 percent less plastic, according to Meizu. The colors available for the phone are Gray, Silver and Gold. Other specs include a fingerprint reader, support for Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, A-GPS, NFC connectivity, USB 3.1 and USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector.
