Johnny Depp's wife Amber Heard will avoid jail time after she pleaded guilty on Monday to making a false statement on her immigration card and illegally bringing the couple's pet dogs into Australia.
As part of her plea deal, prosecutors dropped two serious illegal importation charges against the actress after she brought her two Yorkshire Terriers, Pistol and Boo, into Australia in May 2015 onboard a private jet while Depp, 52, was filming the new Pirates of the Caribbean film in the country.

Authorities found out about the pooches after pictures of them emerged on social media. The Australian Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce even threatened to have the dogs put down if they weren't returned to California within 72 hours.
"Mr. Depp needs to take his dogs back to California, or we're going to have to euthanize them," Joyce said at the time.
Australia has very stringent regulations in place to prevent the spread of diseases like rabies in the country and before bringing pets in, passengers are required to obtain a permit and put the animals in quarantine for a minimum of 10 days.
The illegal importation charges carried a prison sentence of up to 10 years had she been convicted. The false documents charge that Heard pleaded guilty to usually carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a fine in excess of 10,000 Australian dollars ($7,650).
However, the Queensland judge sentenced the Magic Mike XXL actress, who was with Depp at the Southport Magistrates Court, to a one-month good behavior bond, which requires the 29-year-old to pay a fine of 1,000 Australian dollars ($770) if she violates the bond over the next month.
The couple also submitted a videotaped apology in court during the hearing on Monday. "When you disrespect Australian law," Depp said in the video, "they will tell you firmly."
