Surprisingly, Hugh Jackman's popular mutant Wolverine appeared on the 2:27 spot in the trailer. Wolverine's appearance was teased during a scene featuring a military facility strewn with bodies of soldiers. When Mystique comments about the slaughter, Cyclops replies that they had a bit of help, and the camera flashes to Jackman's all-too-famous adamantium claws.

According to /Film, this is the first and only footage of Wolverine shown in any promotional material for the film. It was speculated that it may be unlikely Jackman will receive a bigger role in the upcoming film.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' is an upcoming superhero film based on the popular X-Men characters from the marvel comic books. It is the sequel to Bryan Singer's 2014 film 'X-Men: Days of Future Past. Singer returns to helm the ninth installment in the 'X-Men' cinematic series written for the big-screen by Simon Kinberg.

The new film will follow Professor X and his group of young X-Men as they fight to defeat the ancient and most powerful mutant En Sabah Nur a.k.a Apocalypse who threatens to destroy the world and all of humanity. It stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult and Rose Byrne among others.
