Chinese smartphone manufacturer UMi announced that its latest device called the Umi Touch 2 will bepowered by the newest Helio X25 processor. UMi Touch 2 is the successor to the UMi Touch smartphone that was recently announced this year.
UMi is one of the strongest performing Chinese brands that became popular because of its sub $200 smartphones. The predecessor of the UMi Touch 2 smartphone which is UMi Touch is powered by MTK6753 octa-core processor.

What makes the Helio X25 processor more interesting is that it runs 200 MHz faster version of the Helio X20 deca core with a top clockspeed of 2.3GHz. Meanwhile, UMi's previously released phone which is the UMI Touch uses the MediaTek MTK6753 octa-core processor powered by 1.7GHz clocked Cortex-A53 cores.
The UMI Touch smartphone is now available in the market for the price of $149.99. This is a reasonably prized phone with 4000 mAh battery, Android 6.0, and a metal unibody device. For those interested buyers outside China, it is expected that the price is higher because of import and custom fees in Europe and USA.
Moreover, some rumors suggest that the company is working on an UMi Touch successor that should have the Helio X25 with deca-core processor. Speaking of deca-core processor, Meizu PRO 6 smartphone is the first device with Helio X25 with a three clusters and deca core configuration.
The Meizu PRO 6 smartphone with 32GB storage will sell for 2,499 Yuan (342.1 Euro or USD $386), while the 64GB model costs 2,799 Yuan (383.4 Euro or USD $433) which is quite reasonable considering the spec. Hopefully the UMi Touch 2 can end up significantly cheaper than the Meizu PRO 6 but we do not expect to see this phone shipping anytime soon.
