Fans have continuously been raving about the upcoming games on their PlayStation 4. With the popular console being out on the market for a couple of years now, fans are now looking forward to see what the next version of their console would include or remove. Sony, the company behind the popular gaming console, however is not looking that far into the future for the PlayStation.

According to TechnoBuffalo, President for Sony Playstation, Shuhei Yoshida was quick to state that there might not be a PlayStation 5 to look forward to. In a private dinner with Lorne Lanning, a veteran gamer, Yoshida showed some hesitation when it came to the topic of a Playstation 5.

Lanning states "I said, 'What does the PlayStation 5 look like?' And he said, 'You mean if...' And I was like, 'Whoa. Are you willing to say that on stage?' And he said, 'Yeah, it's an if.'"

Lanning though quickly stated that the Yoshida might be thinking about the possible future changes that the company should be adapting to, once time comes to create a PlayStation 5. The discussion was also absent when the pair presented during DICE 2015.

The President of Playstation also tells Lanning:

"...The idea that you're going to release a piece of technology that's going to last for seven years into the future is becoming I think less and less viable even though the generations of platforms are lasting longer...So it seems like it's in conflict."

Meanwhile, Gamespot reported that Sony is speculated to come out with a 0.5 version of the already released version of the PlayStation 4, something that Lanning later confirmed that the company is working on.

The report states that Sony is not the only one aiming to release an updated version of their gaming console, as Microsoft has also been hinting that they are working on a possible new upgades for their Xbox One.

President for Xbox, Phil Spencer, did confirm a possible new hardware that would be capable of sufficing the needs of "a generation." He was quick to point out that the release could be years into the future, and not in the next couple of years.
