Yahoo's CEO Marissa Mayer was paid $36 million in 2015, down 15 percent from her $42 million paycheck in 2014. The cut is due to less option awards after the company's stock price fell by 15 percent.
Her base salary remained unchanged at $1 million, while the bulk of her package comprises performance-related awards. Mayer's compensation package was approved by 85 percent of the shareholders.

The CEO is likely to have equally impressive severance package, should she and Yahoo part ways. She will receive about $54.9 million in cash and other benefits if she is terminated owing to the sale of the company.
Yahoo did not pay any cash bonuses to the executive in 2015 as the company continues to struggle with declining market share and stock price. A stock exchange filing said that the company reeserves the right to reduce cash bonuses again as it is going through a transitional phase.
For 2016, the company will base its cash bonuses on the performance shown by the company and executives.
In its amended 10-K filing, Yahoo said that it may revive its multiyear performance goal system once it "is further along in achieving its strategic growth plans and setting long-term goals becomes more feasible."
Yahoo is currently in the process of recieving bids for its core business. The company is said to have received 10 bids so far.
