The political drama series "Homeland" is expected to return with its sixth season in September. While the premiere of "Homeland" Season 6 is still quite far, reports about what it contains are already coming out. One of the reports noted that "Homeland" Season 6 would cater story arcs pertaining to the United States' presidential elections.

Carrie Mathison, played by Claire Danes, is said to return in the next installment of the TV franchise and will be back in a CIA uniform.

It can be remembered last season that Saul Berenson, played by Mandy Patinkin, gave Mathison a proposal to come and join him in CIA again, yet Mathison did not accepted the offer. However, it seems that the character has changed her mind, as she will return to her job in the Central Intelligence Agency, and possibly working with Berenson.

According to Ecumenical News, although Mathison is going to work at the agency again, she might not work with her mentor, Berenson, knowing that the two had a previous conflict pertaining to Mathison's assignment in Germany.

On the other note, the President of Showtime, David Nevins, hinted in his interview with Entertainment Weekly that it is not impossible that the rumored US elections storylines would be available in the upcoming "Homeland" Season 6. Nevins added that "Homeland" uses plots extracted from the real world, which is why there could be a possibility that fans would see the Republican nomination of Donald Trump in "Homeland" Season 6.

It can be remembered that after the Paris attack (terrorist bombing some parts of the country), the show reportedly filmed a bombing scene, two days after the horrible incident in Paris. This is why it is not impossible that the current U.S. elections will have its space in the anticipated "Homeland" Season 6.

Nevertheless, it can be expected that in the coming months, more news about the "Homeland" Season 6's storylines will eventually surface.
