Rumors abound that last season's Premier League winners had long been eyeing the Bosnian attacker since the middle of the current term. The Pensioners are said to be preparing to comply with Roma's £30 million buyout clause for Pjanic at the end of the season, but with Juve joining the race their chances of automatically snagging him in the summer went down drastically.

Roma is also said to be "determined to keep the central midfielder", especially that the team had secured a Champions League berth for next season, however with any team offering them the right deal, I Giallorossi might just pull the plug on the Tuzla, Yugoslavia native.

Meanwhile, Pjanic "would be an ideal fit for incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte" as the Bosnian is a favorite of the former Italian national team head coach, according to Caught Offside.

His "five solid years in Serie A and a consistent presence in the Champions League" are said to be key factors that Conte wants Pjanic with him at the Stamford Bridge next season.

Pjanic was signed to a four-year deal by La Maggica in the summer of 2011 after he was transferred from Ligue 1 side Lyon for a reported fee of €11 million. He has so far appeared in 184 games in all competitions for Roma and had scored 30 goals mainly as a defensive midfielder.

He is at his most productive form this season, netting 12 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions.
