Fans of the hit movie franchise Iron Man are still reeling in anticipation of the announcement of an Iron Man 4. While the news has been confusing, with some saying that it might happen and some saying that it would not, fans can take comfort with tidbits of speculations including the possible plotline for the fourth installment.

There are speculations that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) might face off with the villain Fin Fang Foom. Fin Fang Foom is a dragon-like alien, who hails from the Maklu IV planet. The alien visits Earth with the intention of invading it.

Another interesting rumor is that Iron Man will battle with Spider-Man in Iron Man 4. Although the rumor is only based on the titles released by Marvel on Free Comic Book Day, talk about the two action characters being in one movie together is not new. In fact, the Slash Film mentioned that Downey's Stark will appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming as he will be the mentor of Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland.

Aside from the plotlines, there were rumors that Downey Jr., will be replaced as Iron Man. Fortunately, Joe Russo, the director, put fans' minds to ease when he said that replacing the 51-year old actor is "impossible."

Despite fans' eagerness to have an Iron Man 4, several reports have blatantly said that there will be no fourth installment. In fact, as previously reported, the actor himself said that a sequel is simply not in the works, though he will continue to appear as Iron Man in other Marvel films.

However, if there is going to be an Iron Man 4, Downey Jr. said that he would be willing to don the suit again for his stand-alone movie.

Iron Man is one of Marvel's most successful movie franchises, raking in a world-wide box office revenue of 15 billion Yuan ($2 billion).
