Ant-Man delighted fans after its debut on the big screen, and now that the Ant-Man sequel has been officially titled, Ant-Man and the Wasp, several news outlets suggest that Sharon Stone is going to play the original Wasp, Janet van Dyne.

The 58-year-old gorgeous actress paid a visit to James Corden's The Late Late Show where she hinted about joining Marvel and playing the Wasp. During the show, she said, "I am going to do a Marvel movie. I'm just doing a wee part in a Marvel movie, upcoming, and I can't tell, because you know, you have to sign confidentiality agreements."

"But I'm going to do a wee part in a Marvel movie now. That's it," she said.

Due to her revelation, there are speculations that the role Stone will be playing will be opposite Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas. Douglas was her co-star in Basic Instinct, and since they were partners in the erotic thriller film, fans assume that they will again be partners in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp film.

If the speculations are correct, then the "wee" part Stone was referring to is the original Wasp, Janet Van Dyne, the mother of Hope Pym and wife of Hank.

This is not Stone's first foray into superhero films. She first appeared in Catwoman, a Warner Bros. comic book film released in 2004. She is best known for her remarkable performance in Basic Instinct and has other movies such as Total Recall, The Specialist, and a Golden Boy under her belt.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is currently in production. The script was written by a team, along with the director of the movie Peyton Reed and Oscar-nominated writer, Adam McKay.

Ant-Man Paul Rudd will don the suit once again, and Douglas will reprise his role as Hank. Aside from them, possibly newcomer Stone and Evangeline Lilly will also return, not just as Hope but also as the Wasp, as shown in the Ant-Man's and the Wasp's IMDB page.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will premiere on July 6, 2018.
