"Final Fantasy VII Remake" was announced during the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo, and since then the game has been one of the most talked about video title in the gaming community. While a lot of fans are expecting the game to hit the shelves this year, the game's developer, Square Enix, recently hinted that it may take quite a while before the game is released.

During the recent earning presentation from Square Enix, the company only listed a few video game titles that are expected to be released this year. Among these are "World of Final Fantasy," "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue," and "Tomb Raider," all for the PlayStation 4 platform. On top of these titles is the highly anticipated "Final Fantasy XV" which is expected to be released on Sept. 30.

Square Enix did not list "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" as part of the company's roster of games expected to be released this year. Although Square Enix said that its earnings report did not contain the full list of games the company plans to release, some are still skeptical whether the company can deliver a game in just a span of one year after it was initially announced.

Since there is a slim chance that "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" will hit the shelves this year, fans expect the game to be delivered sometime next year. For some fans of the "Final Fantasy" series, 2017 will be a fitting release for "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" since the original game will be celebrating its 20th anniversary next year.

The good news here is that the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo is fast approaching and gaming enthusiasts expect Square Enix to at least release a teaser or trailer video of "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" to keep the interest burning.
