Chinese smartphone manufacturer Alcatel has announced that its Flash Plus 2 smartphone is now available in some Asian countries. The device will first be available in Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Monaco, and Thailand.

The Flash Plus 2 smartphone is the successor of the company's Flash Plus smartphone that was released last year. In October last year, the company officially launched the Alcatel Flash 2 smartphone in India.

The Flash Plus 2 features a 5.5-inch 1080p display screen. The device is powered by MediaTek's Helio P10 Octa-core (four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.8GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores at 1GHz) processor. It runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box, and supports dual-SIM functionality.

The Flash Plus 2 smartphone comes in two memory and storage models. The 2GB RAM/16GB internal storage model of the device is currently priced at $160 (around Rs. 10, 700), while the 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant is priced around $190 (roughly Rs. 12,700). The device also sports a microSD slot to expand storage, which supports up to 128GB. In contrast, the Flash Plus smartphone only comes with 16GB variant with a microSD slot that is expandable up to 32GB only.

The Flash Plus 2 smartphone is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone RealTone flash support, accompanied by a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with LED flash. In terms of the battery, the device is packed with a 3000mAh capacity battery that supports fast charging functionality.

The Flash Plus 2 has a fingerprint scanner housed in the home button on the front panel, supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity options. The device is slim as it only measures a body dimension of 152.6 x 76.4 x 8.2mm and weighs 157 grams. The smartphone will come in Luna Silver and Venus Gold colour.
