‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ Haven’t Seen the Last of Leonard Snart; Set to Appear in Other Superhero Shows

(Photo : DC Comics) It looks like new details and rumors for the Arrow/Flash spin off "Legends of Tomorrow" have been revealed regarding new villains in the series.

The penultimate episode of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" saw the death of one the show's main characters - Leonard Snart a.k.a Captain Cold, played by Wentworth Miller. But in comic books and television adaptations, no character really ever dies, and Captain Cold is no exception.

In "Destiny," Snart sacrificed himself in order to destroy the Oculus machine that the Time Masters used to help Vandal Savage. The Oculus, as revealed by Zaman Druce, was also used to control the destiny of each member of the superhero ensemble. As the Waverider team attempted to destroy the Oculus, Atom discovered that it has a fail safe and someone has to keep holding it for it to explode. Atom (Brandon Routh) willingly offered to make the sacrifice, but Mick (Dominic Purcell) took his place after he knocked him unconscious. Snart pushed Mick aside to make the ultimate sacrifice and he died when the Oculus exploded.

Fans of the show should not fret as producers confirmed that it won't be the last time they see Miller as Leonard Snart. While he is no longer a regular cast member of "Legends of Tomorrow" moving forward, he will be a regular on Greg Berlanti's DC Comics television universe. That said, the character will still have a very active role on "Legends of Tomorrow" and will even make a crossover to "The Flash."

"We always knew that he wouldn't be a permanent member of The Waverider," Greg Berlanti told Deadline. "We also knew we loved him on the show and all the shows, Flash as well."

He added that Miller's contract is the first one that is not exclusive to just one show.

Meanwhile, "Legends of Tomorrow" executive producer Marc Guggenheim spoke to Comic Book about what's happening in Season 2.

Guggenheim teased that more DC characters will make their way to the show in the future.

"We love the idea that the show is a gateway to the whole of the DC Universe, and we have an actual opportunity to go to every corner of the DC Universe, any time or any place that the story makes sense," Guggenheim said. "I will say that you'll see even more DC characters in Season Two. By a large margin."

The "DCS's Legends of Tomorrow" finale will air on Thursday on The CW.
