Recent rumors have emerged that LeBron James could re-join the Miami Heat or move to the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer if the Cleveland Cavaliers win its first NBA title this season.
NBC Sports cited ESPN's Stephen A. Smith as the source of the rumor as the First Take host said that "LeBron James promised the city of Cleveland, 'I'm coming back to bring you that elusive title that has escaped this city since 1964.' He never said anything about staying once he does accomplish that."

Smith continued to say that he was in Miami a week and a few months ago and that he had been "hearing about a return" for LeBron if he can win the championship for Cleveland in the summer. He said that James' "options are open" if he does succeed in his goal and those are to re-join the Heat or sign up with the Lakers to possibly earn the biggest contract of his career so far.
With LeBron's history of flip-flopping from one team to another in the unlikeliest of timings, the rumors do make sense and only time and circumstances will tell if Smith is right about his story.
What makes the rumor more interesting is the inclusion of the Lakers in James' so-called "options" following an assumed Cavaliers win in the 2016 NBA Finals.
The Hollywood squad had been hounding the two-time NBA champion during free-agency for several years now and he has turned them down each time. If he presumably says yes this time, then further speculations may arise that he did it perhaps because Kobe Bryant is already not around.
However, reuniting with best buddy Dwyane Wade and Miami is considered as the more likely choice for LeBron if ever.
For one, the Heat will give him a better chance of winning more titles than the Lakers assuming that Wade, Hassan Whiteside, Luol Deng, Joe Johnson and Goran Dragic will still be there moving forward.
Meanwhile, Fansided questioned Smith's rumor by asking "why on earth would LeBron leave a champion?" as it is most probably that he will not exit Cleveland "without a title defense, at the very least".
Another question is "why would he undo all the good that he's done for Cleveland over the past two years". Now that he is back as the city's savior from being its most hated person, it makes no sense that LeBron would want to change all that.
