Facebook Releases new set of Emojis to Promote Diversity

Facebook has released almost 1,500 new emojis with its new Messenger application update to promote diversity. The emojis are available for iOS, Android, and Messenger.
The updated set of emojis' Unicode will be similar on all platforms. Facebook is focusing on fixing some bugs in the system to improve the functionality of its emojis with every update.

The social media giant has also released a total of 100 additional emoji faces.
A blog post on Facebook said: "We're diversifying the genders to create a more balanced mix that's more representative of our world."
"Now, using Messenger emojis, you'll see a female police officer, runner, pedestrian, surfer and swimmer for the very first time, and we'll keep rolling these out," the post continued.
Users will now be able to set a default skin color of their choice on the Messenger application.
Facebook's emoji picker has been integrated on all platforms as well. It is located on the upper left corner of the application.
Facebook has also rolled out about 100 new emojis that mirrors skin complexion and gender.
The diverse emojis is now ready for download on iOS and Android devices.
