Former "The X Factor" contestant Simone Battle was found dead in her home in West Hollywood on Friday morning, according to reports of the Los Angeles county coroner's department on Saturday.
The 25-year-old singer rose to fame with her performances on the television show and signing on as a member of the girl band G.R.L., initially created as a revival of the Pussycat Dolls and overseen by smash-hit record producer Dr Luke.

The all-female group has already issued a statement on the passing of Battle. "Words cannot express the depth of our loss. Simone's incredible talent was only surpassed by the size of her heart," the band stated.
The 2011 "X Factor" finalist's body was found by her own father, Anthony Battle.
After auditioning for the singing competition with judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Cheryl Cole and L.A. Reid and being eliminated, Batlle released her first music video "He Likes Boys."
In 2013, original Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin announced that the "next generation" of the pop girl group that disbanded in 2010 will continue on as G.R.L., which Battle is a member of.
"X factor" judge and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger took to Twitter and posted a message that she will be offering her South African performance as tribute to Battle.
Another judge from the show, Paula Abdul, expressed her condolences and support on the same social media site: "My heart & prayers go out 2 ?@GRLSimone's family, band mates, & loved ones. Such a beautiful sweet promising star. May she rest in peace. xoP".
The TV show's creator, Simon Cowell, also shared the following message: "I am so sad to hear about the news Simone Battle has passed away. She was such a fun nice person. It's such a loss. Rest in peace Simone."
Reign Deer Entertainment, the singer's management company, also issued a statement: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L. Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time."
The cause of Battle's death is currently under investigation.
