Chinese smartphone manufacturer Alcatel has announced that its new Alcatel X1 smartphone is now available in India for the price of Rs. 15,999 (USD  $239). The Alcatel X1 is equipped with a unique feature called Eye-Biometric unlocking System (EYE-D).

The Eye-Biometric unlocking System is a new advanced method of unlocking user's smartphone devices using eye biometric system. The device is the first handset in mid-range segment with biometric support.

With regards to the overall specification of the device, the Alcatel X1 smartphone features a 5-inch AMOLED HD Display screen with 1280 X 720p screen resolution. The device is powered by Octa-core (quad-core 1.4GHz + quad-core 1GHz) Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 processor onboard, coupled with 2GB RAM. It comes with a built-in 16GB internal memory storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

Alcatel X smartphone runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) operating system out of the box, and it measures a body dimension 145 × 69.2 × 6.9mm that weighs 140grams. The smartphone houses a 2150mAh capacity battery inside, which according to the company can support a talking time up to 19 hours and stand by time up to 74 hours.

The device sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual tone LED Flash support and f/2.0 aperture, along with a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling purposes. Connectivity options of the handset include like GPRS/EDGE, WiFi, GPS with A-GPS, USB, Bluetooth, LTE Case 4 providing downloading speed up to 150Mbps and upload speed up to 50Mbps.

The Alcatel X1 smartphone is currently available on Flipkart and Amazon India.
