The Chinese women's national volleyball team continued their winning streak as they beat the tournament's defending champions United States with an impressive 3-1 (25-20, 25-19, 15-25, 25-23) victory, keeping their unblemished 3-0 record intact in the ongoing 24th edition of the FIVB World Grand Prix Preliminary Pool A at the Beilun Gymnasium in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province on Sunday night.

Zhu Ting demonstrated her dominance and consistency as she led her team to victory for the third successive time by scoring 17 points. The 2015 FIVB World Cup MVP steered the national team to commanding victories over Thailand and Germany with 18 points and 13 points respectively.
Chinese coach Lang Ping tried to play down the significance of their successful opening week in the Grand Prix series.
"I hope my players have gained experience from this week's matches," Lang Ping, who is also known as the "Iron Hammer", said after the match. "Although we won the pool, the results don't mean much, because this USA team isn't the full-strength squad. Some of their best players, such as their main setter Alisha Glass, didn't play much today. We should not get carried away by the victory."
The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix is the last and the most important competition for China ahead of the team's Olympic campaign. The national team finished fourth in the tournament held in Omaha, United States last year and last won the title in 2003.
China currently holds the No. 2 rank in the world only behind the United States. The decorated national team has appeared and competed in eight Summer Olympics and triumphantly brought glory to their country by bagging gold medals in two of them; Los Angeles (1984) and Athens (2004).
